What are the Ocean Tides? |
| Tides are fluctuations of the ocean moving the water toward or away from the shore.
There are two low tides and two high tides in a 24 hour period of time.
Low tides are good for beachcombing, looking in tide pools and clamming.

What are Sneaker Waves? |
| A sneaker wave is a large, strong, unpredictable wave that may unexpectantly surround you.
Sneaker waves have been known to knock over and carry out to sea both children and adults.

What is a Rip Current? |
| These are strong currents that can pull a person out to sea while wading or swimming.
If you are carried out to sea by a rip current swim parallel to the shore and eventually the surf will carry you in. The surf is too strong for you to swim directly back to shore.
